At Commonwealth National Bank, we make wealth common
Since 1976, Commonwealth has been Mobile’s homegrown financial partner and is dedicated to serving our neighbors, friends, and community members with banking services that help us all prosper together.
Your community bank
We stand out as the only locally-owned and headquartered bank in Mobile among more than 20 banks operating in the city, and are one of just 14 Black-owned and -operated banks remaining in the U.S.
We’re invested in creating a brighter future for our community by promoting financial wellness and bringing the spirit of Black Wall Street to the Gulf Coast.
Breaking financial barriers
Commonwealth was founded as a national bank in 1976 by African-American businessmen who were frustrated with discriminatory lending practices in Alabama.
To this day, we continue that legacy, committed to providing financial opportunities for all, ensuring that everyone in Mobile and throughout the Gulf Coast has access to the resources they need to achieve their financial goals.
Empowering Mobile’s financial success
Commonwealth National Bank is deeply rooted in the Mobile community, providing financial wellness and support to all. Through our Our Money Matters by Enrich program, we offer education and resources to help you achieve your financial goals.
